Catatonia No Longer a State in the U.S.

17 June 2009

Most would say that Obama has taken on more that he can chew, and though that may be true, his momentum has already gone a long way towards taking our government out of the catatonic state it has been in for many years. In essence Obama and his administration has stirred up the soul of the U.S. and the World.

In his five or so months in office, Obama and his administration have stirred up more issues and feathers that the last three presidents put together. The agenda is large and complex and it also challenges the status quo that we have been stuck in for years.

People don’t often like change, but the culmination of the war in Iraq and the economic crisis that we are going through is helping people understand that sometimes change is good, and will help this administration in pushing through a lot of the changes that need to happen in order for our society to keep moving forward. No one understands this dynamic better than Obama.

These are some of the issues that this administration has tackled so far:

Now whether we stand on one side or the other on any of these issues is not the issue. The fact that some of these issues are being tackled at all is a testament to the good intentions behind this administration, and deserve the full attention of the people of this country. Let’s not let politics as usual continue to interfere with the well being of the country.

We should all embrace change on a personal, national and global level. Change is the impetus for growth.

Let’s get involved in resolving these issues, tell your representatives how you feel about the issues and let them know what you want them to do. And if they are stuck in politics as usual, vote them out. It’s time to make our representatives accountable for what they do or don’t do.

After all do they not work for us?

    Boy oh boy!!!
I don’t even know where to start here…..
Obama so far is a total disaster.
    Lets start with
TARP money… Suppossed to be used to provide money so the banks could lend. So far lending is scarce and the money has also been used to bail out GM and Chrysler. The US is now in the business of selling cars. We were promised that if we lend this money to the car companies they would not go bankrupt. Wrong!! both companies went into bankruptcy and now will layoff enough people to bring Michigan to about 20% unemployment and the ripple effect it will have on the small business in the surrounding states.
Stimulus bill… Obama said if we did not pass it unemployment would reach 8%…well we are at 9.5% expected to reach 10% in August and worst if the Cap and trade bill passes the Senate(Fat chance of that..too many rural and coal country dems). So far Obama lied to Aerica twice.
Obama said that he would not raise any kind of taxes on any American making less than $200,000…well if you are a smoker in the middle class you are aware of lie number three.
Bail of Wall Street… I am glad that Obamas’ work to help the middle class has led him to help the Fat cats in Wall Street stay out of bankruptcy.
Housing Market… can Obama explain why the executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac(They received a big bailout) are getting bonuses and wage hikes (could it be because his frineds run them?)
Transparency…Paraphrasing Obama…I will not sign any bill until it is posted on the net for 5 days for Americans to read… well except for the Stimulus bill and a host of others that were not even read by the representatives that signed them…. Another lie
Iraq…. I will bring the boys home Obama said….Well except for the 50,000 or so trainers and “logistical” troops that will remain in the country indefinetely….Another lie
Yep this is change we need
Change is good, but not at the expense of freedom Becoming a nanny state is not in line with the perseverence and self reliance that America was built upon. Rugged individualism, liberty and the ability to set ones own course without the constrains of an overeaching government is the American way….This president does not adhere to the foundations of our Constitution.

Government regularization of the Banking industry is what caused the problem to begin with. For every regulation that they impose, 5 more are needed to deal with their effects.

Government, DEMANDED that those banks make those NINJA loans. As far as TARP goes… nothing but a massive racket, of the likes we’ve never seen before.

    Carlos,

While some of what you say may be true, you forget to mention that the greediness of the banking, mortgage, investment industries is what nailed the coffin shut. While the government may have asked them to make these loans, these industries took that “mandate” and ran with it. They saw the pot of gold at the end of the tunnel and disregarded the dangers that these unsound business decisions would put their own businesses and the economy in.
While it is nice idea to think that they possess the integrity to police themselves without government regulation, recent history shows that they cannot.

    Thanks for stopping by…
