Amen Chris D, couldn't have said it better myself. Jus a guy, perhaps you have something to say, but you should work a little harder at making a cogent point. Spell-check might be a plus.
We made the mess, and it is a mess, we are honor bound to leave the country in a better condition.
I do not believe we are massacring the citizenry though.

the feeling of most iraqi's particularly those involved in the insurgency is that america will never leave. setting a clear timetable for leaving will greatly help stabilize the country.

that being said the insurgents are right. america will never leave even if it pulls its combat troops. the bases it has installed are permenant, just like the bases in saudi arabia and kuwait. there will always be an american military presence in the region no matter what administration is in power.

looks like you've been reading the talking points. you'll support the war with iran whether you think you will or not. once they start threating you with impending doom and catch phrases and assaulting your sense of man hood and honor you'll be bombing children in a war for peace. i also hope that will not be true this time.

for those wanting to get out without a clearly stable environment to leave behind, then you ought to consider the possibility that your fear drives your motives to sacrifice the hope and life of anyone we leave behind with the flood of zealously irrational religious minds bringing down judgment on any Muslim who openly hoped for freedom of speech. there will be a massacre. and like the media and misinformed of the 70's, you'll be no less a coward but much more manipulated by the present enemy than they were by the Vietcong. Vietnam is much more fresh in the minds of the terrorists than it is in your mind, because they saw first-hand how America's blood ran yellow in the face of adversity. that is what gave them the temerity to hold our citizens hostage in the late 70's in the American Embassy in Iran. it is exactly what they intend to cultivate in our minds now so that we will withdraw our support for what is right and necessary in Iraq. they believe us all to be cowards. i hope that will not be true this time.
