Looking for the best blog post…

2 April 2008

There are hundreds of contests going on in the blogosphere. I came up on a contest that seems kind of interesting and different. You can find it over at Yearblook.com and it ranks blog posts. It’s interesting not because it will rank blog posts, because that’s done all the time, but because after they are done ranking the posts, the posts will be printed onto a real book as a record of the Year’s Best Blog Posts.

The way it works is that you go to Yearblook.com

  1. You register
  2. You can submit posts to be rated
  3. You can vote on posts to be rated
  4. Daily Posts are run through the Yearblook’s algorithm
  5. The best post of the day is added into the book

This is done everyday and then at the end of the year, the Yearblook will come out with the best blog posts of that year as voted on by the blogosphere.

There is also a monthly $100 dollar prize that goes to the post with the most votes. $50 dollars each goes to the submitter and the writer and if you happen to be one in the same then you get the whole $100 dollars. Prizes are paid out through Paypal.

This contests rules encourage you to promote your own posts, so feel free to submit your posts and tell all your friends and family to come and vote for you. Or if you would like to promote a friends blogs posts or just someone’s writing that you admire, you can do that too. Everyone’s votes count but if its a registered user it counts even more in the algorithm.

Sounds like fun, let’s see who makes it in the Yearblook…

Check it out…
