What Is It about Mankind…
What is it about mankind, that we don’t learn from our mistakes. Everyday I look at the news, whether on the TV, Newspaper or the Net, it’s the same thing everywhere. War, Death Tolls, Violence, Political Posturing, mostly Ego’s at work.
Anywhere you look, history shows us what has worked and what hasn’t. What is the point of keeping a record of history, when we don’t use it to our advantage. Wars in the name of “whatever” don’t solve anything, they never have. Hatred never got anyone anywhere. Communism didn’t work, neither does Totalitarianism. Oppression won’t keep people down for long. Dictatorships don’t last. Religious Sectarianism has been around since the 15th century, has anything good come out of it. No matter what label we put on the positions or the actions that we take, all any of these actions have ever caused is death and suffering to others.
What is it about us, that we forget what has gone on before us, that we keep trying the same things over and over again as if caught in a vicious circle. Why do we have to keep reinventing the wheel? Why can’t we just learn from our mistakes and move forward onto bigger and better things for all humanity, not just the few. Most conflicts in the world today stem from poverty, lack of respect for others, or ego, and non of these will ever get resolved by war or violence. Will we ever learn?

Great post, I know it’s cliche to say this but if each of us would take a little responsibility for cleaning up our acts and let people know that WE ARE ALL to blame and should know better, maybe things will change.
We certainly now have the avenue to be heard now with the net.
